Online Interviews of Sichuan University for International Students 

To carry out the enrollment of international students with sound procedures, and further improve the quality of higher education offered to international students, the colleges& schools of Sichuan University have launched the 2022-2023 academic year online interviews with international students applying for English-taught programs. The colleges& schools involved include: the College of Computer Science (College of Software), College of Architecture& Environment, Tourism School, and Business School.

        First, the Office of International Students has meticulously reviewed the applicants’ resumes and qualifications, covering nationality, age, families, GPAs, health condition, language proficiency, and financial competency. Then, the office released the list of eligible applicants. With this list, the College of Computer Science (College of Software), College of Architecture& Environment, Tourism School and Business School organized online interviews with them. Detailed arrangements and interview plans have been prepared to this end, including the criteria and questions. They also adjusted the interview time for applicants from different countries, considering the time difference. The interviewers introduced specific programs and specialities of Sichuan University, and the applicants answered questions after self-introduction.

         After the interview, the expert panel evaluated the applicants’ competency and capability. Those who meet the standards will be selected to participate in the online psychological and academic assessments.

          Pursuant to the guiding principles on international students’ higher education issued by the Ministry of Education to “expand the scale, optimize the structure, improve the quality and standardize the management,” Sichuan University has initiated the enrollment of international students, including online interviews, a step to push forward its international higher education and attract more outstanding international students.
