1.How can I apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship?

Applicants can find the latest information on our university's Overseas Students Office website (https://global.scu.edu.cn/oso/article/index/1046), apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship or the Confucius Institute Scholarship, and also browse the websites of the China Scholarship Council (http://www.campuschina.org/) and the Confucius Institute Headquarters (http://cis.chinese.cn/).

 

2.Does Sichuan University accept undergraduate transfer students?

Our school does not accept undergraduate transfer students. Any student who wishes to pursue an undergraduate program at our school must take our university's undergraduate entrance examination and interview, and can only enroll if their scores meet the admission standards.

 

3.Does Sichuan University have a preparatory program?

Our school currently does not have a preparatory program.

 

4.If I am still in the final year of my bachelor's or master's program during the application stage and have not yet obtained my degree, can I apply for a master's or doctoral program?

Yes, you can still apply. You may first submit a proof of expected graduation. If admitted, you must provide the original and copies of your diploma and degree certificate by the time of enrollment at the latest. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your admission.

 

5.How can I find out my admission results?

Students can log in to the online application system (https://scu.17gz.org/member/login.do) to check their admission results.

 

6.How long will it take for me to know the admission result after submitting the application?

Sichuan University will evaluate students based on their academic performance and language proficiency, and, if applicable, their performance in interviews or written tests. Following the principle of merit-based admission, the university will determine the list of pre-admitted students in batches. Generally, applicants can check the final review results on the Sichuan University online application system within 4-8 weeks after submitting their application.

 

7.Can I apply for the semester exchange program at Sichuan University?

First, please confirm with your alma mater whether it has signed university-level and college-level agreements with Sichuan University. If it has, then apply through your alma mater's nomination. We do not accept students who apply independently.

 

8.Do I need to contact the relevant advisor during the application stage? If so, what is the appropriate way to do so?

It is recommended that master's and doctoral applicants proactively establish contact with potential supervisors through formal channels such as email before submitting their applications. When contacting, you may send relevant materials that demonstrate your academic background and research potential, such as your CV and personal statement (PS). To obtain the contact information of supervisors, please refer to the official websites of the respective schools:https://en.scu.edu.cn/Academics.htm, and check the supervisor information on the corresponding school or discipline page.

 

9.If I am under 18 years old, can I apply for an undergraduate program at Sichuan University?

Not allowed. Students applying for undergraduate programs should be at least 18 years old (inclusive) and generally no more than 25.

 

10.Can I apply for admission in the spring semester?

The spring semester is open for applications only for the non-degree program and the Chinese language undergraduate program at the School of Overseas Education. The application period is from September 15 to November 30.

 

11.Can students from international schools with IB scores apply to Sichuan University?

Regardless of whether you have IB scores, you must have a formal high school diploma and transcript. IB scores can be submitted as supplementary materials.

 

12.Can the application fee be paid in dollar?

13.Regarding the applicant, proof of financial resources (or proof of financial guarantee from a guardian) is required?

Proof of financial capability can be one of the following documents, including family bank deposit certificate and parents/guardian's income certificate, with a recommended amount of no less than 5,000 US dollars. All uploaded certificates and documents must be original or notarized copies in Chinese or English.

 

14.I have already applied to other domestic universities as a first-year student and have also received CSC approval to transfer to another university. I want to transfer to Sichuan University; will Sichuan University accept me?

You cannot enroll as a transfer student and must reapply to Sichuan University.

 

15.Does a recommendation letter have a specific format and required content?

There is no specific format. The recommendation letter is suggested to be written by a professor in this research field and must be personally signed by the professor.

 

16.What are the requirements for the translation and notarization of graduation certificates and transcripts?

If the diploma and transcript are in Chinese or English, please submit a copy of the diploma and the original transcript; if the diploma and transcript are neither in Chinese nor English, please submit the original notarized translation in Chinese or English, notarized by a Chinese embassy or consulate abroad or a foreign embassy or consulate in China.
